In the spirit of switching (Or finally deciding) on the new theme for Mike.Co, I thought that this would make a great “First Post.”  Enjoy!

If you have a website or blog that has traffic fluctuations a cloud setup such as Storm on Demands could be ideal.  Some websites are seasonal and get bombarded with all their traffic around a certain holiday or date.  Other websites might launch varies products or services through out the  year and experience heavy traffic during those launches.  Before the Cloud Technology with servers was made available these sites would have to spend big money all year around on a Dedicated Server.

… Now you can literally Create a New Server or adjust your servers CPU and RAM with in seconds.

So Instead of paying Monthly, Quarterly or Annually for a server that only needs to be a “Super Star Server” a few weeks out of the year… make the switch to Cloud Hosting Hourly Billing and crank up your Server when the traffic is coming and turn it down during the known light periods.  As you might have guessed the “Going Green” Nuts are all over this technology…so it’s a Win / Win for your Personal or Business Server.

So it took some time to find a “Personal WordPress Blog Theme” … I just wanted something simple and that is what I found with ” Post It. ”  I also found out that I was going to need a Cartoon of myself if this was going to work…. None of the standard cartoon images were close :)

Well I was lucky to get a hold of the designer and was extremely pleased with her work.  She was able to knock out the first draft with in about 4-5 days and we agreed on the final draft at day 9 or 10.  The price was right and I would certainly recommend her, check it out:

Bob Parsons CEO of GoDaddy Kills an Elephant, Who Cares?

Bob Parsons in a Haitis Senior Center built from Hope for Haiti

Bob Parsons in a Haitis Senior Center built from Hope for HaitiBob Parson’s is the CEO of the largest Domain Registrant on the web, GoDaddy.com and he has made an absolute fortune with GoDaddy’s dominane in this area and many other web related areas such as Website Hosting, Email Packages, Website Builders such as Website Tonight and many other up and cross sells that you have most likely seen if you have purchased a Domain with GoDaddy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Parsons at Yanik’s Underground Internet Marketing Conference about three years back and learned a lot about his very interesting background.  Recently Bob Parson’s has gotten negative comments thrown his way because he shot and killed a large Elephant Bull in a dark farmers field in Zimbabwe.  The PETA animal rights group has come down especially hard on him.  When Bob released his side of the story he said they were helping a local Farmer who has had his lively hood of farming basically destroyed over and over by these abundant Elephant herds trampling his crops.  Bob said that “The field was dark, there was little to no moonlight and it was hard to see more than three feet in front of him.”  When we realized that a large group of elephants were only 15 yards from us we turned on the lights we had and I fired at the largest Bull (Which according to most Elephant experts will have little to no effect on the hurd) and killed him.

Apparently after that the elephants ran off in the opposite direction and have not come back to that farm site.  Now of course the Animal Activists are saying there are better ways to solve this situation and the elephant did not need to be killed.  Others are simply saying it was for the thrill or the sport to kill an elephant.  Personally to me it sounds like a little bit of both from the stories that have been told.

While I can appreciate important work that many respected Animal Rights organizations do, I really think these people should learn a little bit more about Bob’s story before coming down on him so hard.  This man served our country in Vietnam and lost many friends during countless bloddy battles and the crazy jungle conditions he described.  Not many people have the guts to step up and defend the U.S. in horrific conditions to defend her and those who do should have the highest level of respect for their love of country and allowing the freedom of speech and capitalism that allows PETA to scream out murder and for others to agree or disagree without fearing their life.

Bob’s “Shock” Marketing and his hilarious GoDaddy commercials had their 2nd Superbowl slot pulled on Fox the first year they started the $3 Million dollar for 30 second ads.  The “Any Press is Good Press” idea paid off big time in this case and put GoDaddy’s leading customer service with Domain Registering at the top.  He has had the guts to reinvest almost everything he had earned from previous businesses to see that lost and then earned back again… many, many times over!

Then you see his generosity to the Haiti cause, which he continues to support heavily and has integrated it into the GoDaddy Domain Purchase process so customers can easily round up 30 or 40 cents to help Hope for Haiti.  Not too long ago he took a 4 day trip to see the effect that some of this charity money was having and how much it was really helping.  Take 5 minutes and watch the video below, he has a knack for public speaking in that he comes off as a straight shooter and a guy who has fun no matter what he is doing.

I wish there were more articles about the generosity of Bob with this type of work and realize that this guy is living the American Dream, gives back to people in need with not only his money, but his time and is a “Real Guy.”  So the guy shot an elephant… lets get over it people and realize that maybe work like this and the things he has done is much more important.

You can learn more about his interesting story that has many ups and downs with plenty of Humor that he throws in at Bobparsons.me and you can visit HopeforHaiti.com by clicking on the banner below.  As Bob says at the end of this video “Go ahead and help your fellow human beings, it just might get you into heaven! :) “
